Meet Valeria Fic

Founder of School of Couture, the first Haute Couture embroidery school in the Baltic States. Over 13 years with a needle in hand: learning from the masters, competing on international stages, and teaching thousands of students.

My dresses have been worn at the Cannes Film Festival. At the Hand & Lock Prize in London I placed 2nd in the Fashion Open category. And somewhere between teaching and competing, I wrote a book: The Business of Creative Arts.

What keeps me at the frame every morning is the moment a student says "I didn't think I could do this", and then does it anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions

Stitches of Clarity

I have never done goldwork before. Is this really for beginners?
Yes. The course opens with foundation exercises that introduce every technique from scratch, before you ever touch the main project. Everything is demonstrated in close-up video and explained step by step. If you can hold a needle, you can start today.
The techniques look complicated. Will I really be able to do this?
That is exactly what my students say before they start, and it is the first thing they change their mind about. The close-up videos show every single stitch. It's not complicated. It's just new.
How long will it take to complete the course?
The course is split into foundation exercises and two full A4 projects, more than 50 lessons and 17 hours in total. You can move through it in a few focused weeks or spread it over several months. There's no schedule and no deadline.
Can I really learn goldwork through video? Won't I need someone to correct me in person?
The close-up filming format was specifically designed to replace an in-person teacher. You see every stitch from multiple angles, can pause and rewind, and have the student community plus direct instructor support whenever you're stuck.
Where do I get the materials? I live outside Europe.
The course includes a Global Materials Sourcing Guide: a curated list of suppliers that ship worldwide, with pictures and links. You'll know exactly what you need and where to find it, wherever you are.
Is the checkout secure?
Yes. All payments are processed through Kajabi's secure checkout with Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna. Your information is never stored or shared.
Your prices are in euros. Can I still pay in USD or another currency?
Yes. All prices are listed in EUR, but your bank or card provider converts the amount to your local currency automatically at the day's rate. Pay from anywhere in the world.
