COURSE HIGHLIGHT
Goldwork Embroidery Techniques – Practice Before the Masterpiece
Start with confidence - master the techniques before the masterpiece.
Watch full Lesson 2.5
The first part of the course is your technical foundation. Before we begin the main work, we dedicate a full series of lessons to practising every core goldwork technique in isolation - so that when you encounter them in the main project, they already feel familiar.
Each exercise is filmed in extreme close-up. You will see every thread, every tool movement, every stitch from the exact angle you need. Work at your own pace, rewatch as many times as you like, and move forward only when you feel ready.
This is the part of the course that removes the fear - and replaces it with skill.
After this course you will be able to create
Goldwork is not a single project - it is a language. Once you speak it, every design becomes possible.
The techniques you master in this course are the same ones used to embroider haute couture gowns, royal ceremonial garments, altar pieces, and award-winning competition works. After completing this programme, you will have the skills to turn that same craft into your own creative practice.
Here is what becomes possible:
- Embroidered clothing decorations and couture garment embellishments
- Wearable art - brooches, jewellery, and accessories in goldwork technique
- Framed goldwork as statement interior pieces
- Personalised gifts and heirloom keepsakes that last generations
- Custom commissions for private clients and fashion designers
- Competition entries at national and international embroidery awards
- A professional portfolio that speaks for itself
COURSE HIGHLIGHT
The Main Project – Complete Goldwork Embroidery on Silk Taffeta
From technique to masterpiece - your first complete goldwork piece.
Watch full Lesson 7.3
The second part of the course brings everything together. Using all the techniques from the exercises, you will create a complex, professional-grade goldwork embroidery on silk taffeta - a complete A4-sized piece that demonstrates the full range of goldwork at its finest.
This is where the course transforms from learning into creating. Close-up video guides you through every stage - from the first transferred sketch to the last finishing stitch. The result is a piece you will be proud to display, wear, or present as a gift - and a set of skills that will stay with you for life.

Meet Valeria Fic
Founder, School of Couture - the first haute couture embroidery school in the Baltic States.
I have spent over 13 years with a needle in my hand - learning from the masters, competing on international stages, and teaching thousands of students to create work they never imagined possible.
My dresses have been worn at the Cannes Film Festival by French top model Audrey Bouette and actress Wilma Elles. At the Hand & Lock Prize in London - one of the most prestigious embroidery competitions in the world - I placed 2nd in the Fashion Open category. For Elle Lithuania, I have written interviews with leading creators in craft and design. And somewhere between teaching and competing, I wrote a book: The Business of Creative Arts.
But none of that is what keeps me at the embroidery frame every morning.
What keeps me here is the moment a student says: "I didn't think I could do this" - and then does it anyway. That is what School of Couture was built for. And that is exactly what this course will do for you.
